Thanks to Kimberly Boyd, who writes:
In the March edition the
"friends" photo was probably taken in the 92-93 school year. The girl on the
shoulders is Betsy Massingill. The girl on
bottom might be MarBeth or Amy? She is wearing a Morgan School at Patterson
Preserve t-shirt so it had to be between 91 and 94. Betsy would have graduated
in 94 I think.
I was the "librarian"
for the Morgan School during the 92-93 school year. After teaching art history
at Vincennes University and being on the curatorial staff at New Harmony State
Historic Site in Indiana, I am now back in the mountains of North Carolina as
the director of archives and history for the southeastern jurisdiction of the
United Methodist Church at Lake Junaluska. I may drop by for a visit some day
soon!

Thanks to Mrs. Spoon, who writes:
The end of the month is almost here. I can't
resist any longer. The picture of "Friends" is indeed from The Morgan School at
Patterson Preserve era. Ms. Boyd, former Librarian, is indeed also correct
about Betsy Massingill--now Kessler, and the mother of two beautiful children.
She, Matt and the children live in Raleigh. The other girl is Amy Mackie, last
year's President of the Alumni Association, now living and working in
Asheville. The young man is Ben Weathers, IV. Ben recently came from his new
house in Wendell to visit the School. Unfortunately, I think it was a weekend
and I was not there when he came. I do hope that all three of these Friends
will come to the August Reunion this summer. I would dearly love to see them.
Those were wonderful days I will never forget.
And Ms. Boyd, please do come back to Campus and
visit as well, either at the Reunion or any other time. We'd love to have you.

Past Events!)
Let me conclude with a plea to ALL Alumni and
former teachers, etc.: Put August 15-17, 2003 on your calendars to be on Campus
for the Annual Reunion. You will find bustling activity that will take you back
to the "old days!"
Always yours,
Mrs. Janet H. Spoon
